Memory Lane - Ginger's B Pack Recap

Welcome back to the Memory Lane mini-series! This is the second post as we wait for Elio's second litter to come! This post is Ginger's second litter, December 2022. It's particularly special because Elio's second litter is expected to arrive within a week after this litter's 3rd birthday!

Nearly three years ago, Ginger delivered 9 puppies. She was bred with the same stud, Artemis, and just as we saw in her first litter, all four colors were born! Three females, six males. One chocolate puppy, two red puppies, two yellow puppies, and four black puppies.

It was with this litter that we experienced our first puppy passing. Ivory passed in the night just two days later.

We started ENS when the puppies were three days old. The scent for the day is an orange ginger lotion (aromatherapy from Bath & Body Works). I wear it all the time and I think the last litter of pups recognized me before their eyes were open.

The third week of life is considered the "transitional period". Puppies make a huge transformation in this short week! They go from fragile little beings to showing their individual personalities---looking and acting like puppies. We just love this week! We also introduced puppies to the crate this week.

At four weeks old, these puppies are improving in potty training! They went 12 hours without accidents!! That is a pretty incredible accomplishment for 4 week old puppies!

At five weeks old, all eight of these puppies greeted me with a sit at their door. Pups are being exposed to different loud noises throughout the day. They're taking turns going for rides, visiting the intermediate school, and some have made their way to a soccer game and the gym after a wrestling meet. Plus they have lots of visitors and new smells. They are growing fast! (And more importantly, Raiden is reading Harry Potter to them).

8 weeks old and the puppies begin going to their forever homes. Chase was the first to leave, followed by Harper shortly after. Sammy, Bruin, and Loki were the next ones to go home. Teddy and Thor were the last ones to go home (Ember lives with us).
